I am a multidisciplinary artist from Rome, I studied film and moving image and moving image remains central to my work. In recent years I’ve been experimenting with different mediums. Video installation became important in my work as I really appreciate their quality of transforming a space and creating a new world and realities.
In my work materials are really important, I like to use different textures and organic materials from nature. For example in my installation Peristrefein I created a Hut of tree trunks, which came from a recently burned pine forest.
Another element which is present in my work in different ways are myths and tales,
the interplay of different temporalities so precious to both learn about the society that creates them. What do myths tell us about our world? and which worlds can be created by new myths and tales. How can stories create new realities? what stories do we want to bring with us, which ones do we wanna change and which ones are we going to create from scratch,
The creation of new worlds and ideas is really central to my art, maybe my most asked question is how can we think outside the current state of things ? and step out from capitalistic and colonial ideologies ?
My political beliefs are linked to my way of seeing art and a recurring theme is how to get out of western ideology and if art could aid in creating something different, to learn more about this you can access my research on the topic: How can experimental moving images serve as a tool for creating new narratives that transcend and challenge Western anthropocentric and colonial ideology through tales of multispecies collaboration?”
